The Brief
The International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA), now called United World Wrestling, wished to develop a strategic plan for the sport of wrestling worldwide. Widespread belief throughout the wrestling community confirmed that various changes could be made to the governing body and the sport to improve itself. The international leadership believed that putting a long term strategy in place would ensure that a common framework was created within which the sport, represented by the national governing bodies around the world, could work together towards common goals for the future.
Our Response
Our team of experts, over a period of twelve months, assisted in developing a strategy to take the sport of wrestling forward in the long term commencing with a complete review of the sport that included the involvement of members at various levels. The outreach programme encompassed a series of focus groups, surveys and desk research on best practice and formed the base on which the plan was built. The findings were incorporated into the final Wrestling World Plan which provides the basis of the strategic direction for the sport over the coming five years. The final strategy provides a common framework from which to launch a new and exciting era for Wrestling.
