BCW's Axel Bringel Wins Global Cannes Young Lions Film CompetitionJune 22, 2022

LONDON, June 22, 2022 – BCW, a leading global communications agency, today announced that Axel Bringel, Senior Creative at BCW Sweden, has won the Global Cannes Young Lions Film competition alongside his partner Joel Hördegård.

The Young Cannes Lions competition sees the next generation of creative stars go head-to-head, working on a creative brief set by an NGO with just 24 hours to respond. The winners were announced during the Cannes International Festival of Creativity this week.

The pair first won the Swedish competition with their film for Majblomman, an NGO that sells paper flowers to raise money for families living in poverty. Bringel and Hördegård then went on to win the international competition against 72 competitors, with their film entitled “Excuse Me, I’m Saving the World,” for Global Citizen.

“Cannes is the pinnacle of creativity globally; I could therefore not be more thrilled to learn that Axel had won the Global Cannes Young Lions competition”, said Scott Wilson, BCW President for Europe & Africa. “That Axel’s success came in the highly contested film category is even more impressive.
